Description
Introducing Craftiviti’s Polysorbate-20 that is a polysorbate-type nonionic surfacant formed by the ethoxylation of sorbitan before the addition of lauric acid. We generally use polysorbate-20 to emulsify fragrance or essential oils (lighter oils) in water. It is also soothing to the skin.

May I know how much do we need to add into the ingredients?
Simon Foo –
Hi heatherlws, Polysorbate-20 is commonly used to emulsify oils and water at a 1:1 ratio. Which is mixing equal amount of essential oil/fragrance oil with Polysorbate-20 and after that mix with water. The ratio of oil and Polysorbate-20 can be adjusted to get different result depending on the recipe.
Fatihah –
Hi I just want to know, can we use this in bathbomb bcs all the recipes that I found use polysorbate 80
Simon Foo –
Hi Fathihah,
It is optional. If you would like to add Polysorbate-20, you would need to reduce the water or witch hazel used in the recipe. This is to prevent the mixture to fizz when mixing.
Polysorbate-20 works well with light oil such as essential oil and fragrance oil.
This will require some trial and error until you get the right ratio.
