Facts on CP Lotion Maker

  • Free of Acrylamide
  • Easy to use
  • Cold process – no heat required which makes it ideal for heat sensitive oils and materials
  • Good pH stability
  • Acts as an emulsifier or co-emulsifier for a wide range of oils

Suggested instructions :

  • Prepare 100ml distilled water.
  • Add 3% to 5% CP Lotion and give it a quick stir.
  • Stir in 15-30ml natural carrier oils depending on how heavy or light you need the feel to be. Stir well.
  • Add 5 – 15 drops of Essential Oil / fragrance oil *optional.
  • Stir well to combine until a smooth lotion texture forms.
  • Stores in refrigerator for up to 3 days so make smaller batches. For a longer shelf life, add preservatives such as Liquid Germall Plus (0.75%-1.5%), Optiphen Plus (0.75% – 1.5%) or Ecocert Tea Tree Preservative (1%) for longer shelf-life and protection.

For better results, always use quality fresh oil bases such as Argan Oil, Moringa Oil, Rosehip Oil or Avocado Oil. Add d-alpha tocopherol (Vitamin E) to protect natural oils in the lotion from going rancid.

    shah

hi. ive bought this product, if i follow the recipe given, how long would it take for the lotion to stay fresh before it goes rancid?

    • Simon Foo

      Hi Shah,

Anything containing water, items will only be safe to use in 3 days outside or max 5 days in fridge, it’s hard to tell because bacteria can grow immediately.

We advise to use preservatives to prolong the shelf life because of water presence with our Ecocert Tea Tree preservative which is 100% natural.

Also, Vit E (Tocopherol) will only slow down rancidity of oil but not slow down growth of bacteria.

To protect the oil in the product from going rancid, you would need to add anti-oxidant like Rosemary Oleoresin.

    Mia

Trideceth doesnt seem to get good reviews. Is it safe or not?

    • Simon Foo

      Hi Mia,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

Upon checking with our supplier, there is no confirm indication that Trideceth is a concern especially when used in safe amounts. We’ve also done a search on CoSing (European Commission) and Trideceth is not flagged under any known restrictions.

      Hope this clarifies.

    Tan

Hi May I know if i want to make the lotion a a little richer, is it okay if i add some shea butter and Glycerin to make it more moisturing to the skin but light in texture? and mix it all in blend with a mixer.
What would be the recommended ‘gram’ of Shea butter and glycerin required for a 100ml bottle of lotion? Thank you.

    • SimonFoo

Hi Tan, yes you can add Shea Butter and/or Glycerin to make the lotion more moisturizing. We would advise to start with small quantity with trial and error until you get the texture that you would like to have.
