All-Natural Coconut Oil Lip Balm Recipe

Making an all-natural lip balm from scratch is not rocket science after all. Trust me, it’s as easy as ABC. To keep things really simple, all you need is beeswax and coconut oil.

This lip balm recipe could be the next best thing to the commercial lip balms found in retail stores. You can take things up a notch by adding a bit of honey for sweetness, lip balm flavor as an additional scent, essential oil for fragrance and additional health benefits, cosmetic grade mica or lip liquid coloring for an added tint!

By using naturally refined beeswax pastilles (USA) and coconut oil from Craftiviti, I made all-natural coconut oil lip balm and I love it! It keeps my lips stay hydrated and nourished, also super convenient to carry in my purse.

1 Tbsp Natural Refined Beeswax Pastille (USA)
1 Tbsp Coconut OilLip balm tube

Small plastic funnel
Essential Oil – peppermint, lavender

Step 1: Add beeswax and coconut oil in a jar/bowl (heat safe)

Step 2: Melt beeswax and coconut oil mixture in the microwave with 20-30 seconds intervals. Stir until ingredients are melted (If you do not want to use the microwave, you can use double-boiler)

Step 3: Pour into lip balm tubes or pots and let sit at room temperature to cool.

Once lip balm is cool, voila! You just made yourself an all-natural lip balm at home. What’s your favorite recipe or ingredients?

What is the amount of coloring required to have a pink lip balm? Is there natural plant extract for pink coloring?

    1. Simon Foo says:

      Hi Sam,

You can add any amount of lip liquid coloring depending on color tone would like to have.

The natural plant powder that you can use to get the pink color would be Beetroot Powder.

      Hope this helps.

      Thank you Sam
